This creamy homemade dog cheesecake is made with plain Greek yogurt, xylitol free cream cheese, pumpkin, and oats. It is an easy no bake style treat that can be portioned into small servings for dogs.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats Plain and finely ground.
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce No added sugar or spices.

  • 4 oz plain cream cheese Xylitol free and softened.
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt Unsweetened and xylitol free.
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree Plain and unsweetened.

Equipment

  • 1 Food processorFor making the oat crust. 1 Mixing bowl For preparing the cheesecake filling. 1 Electric hand mixer For whipping the filling until creamy. 1 Small silicone muffin mold For making individual cheesecake portions. 1 Rubber spatula For transferring the filling into the molds.

Method
 

  1. Place the rolled oats in a food processor and pulse until finely ground.
  2. Add the applesauce and pulse until the mixture resembles a soft, crumbly dough.
  3. Divide the oat mixture between small silicone muffin molds and press it firmly into the bottoms to create a thin crust.
  4. Add the softened cream cheese, Greek yogurt, and pumpkin puree to a mixing bowl.
  5. Beat the ingredients until smooth and creamy with no large lumps remaining.
  6. Spoon the cheesecake filling over the prepared oat crusts and smooth the tops with a rubber spatula.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours, or until the cheesecakes are firm enough to remove from the molds.
  8. Remove from the molds and serve a small portion once fully chilled.
Recipe Notes
  1. Always check the cream cheese and yogurt labels to make sure they contain no xylitol or other unsafe sweeteners.
  2. Use plain pumpkin puree rather than pumpkin pie filling.
  3. This recipe is intended as an occasional dog treat and is not a substitute for a complete and balanced diet.
  4. Because this cheesecake contains dairy, introduce a small portion first if your dog does not regularly eat dairy products.
  5. Keep the cheesecakes refrigerated and use within a few days. They can also be frozen for longer storage.
