A simple homemade cat food recipe made with cooked chicken, plain pumpkin, and a small amount of rice. It is easy to prepare and works best as an occasional meal or topper alongside complete and balanced cat food.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup cooked chicken breast boneless skinless, and unseasoned
  • 1/4 cup cooked pumpkin plain and unsweetened
  • 1/4 cup cooked white rice plain
  • 1/2 cup warm water

Method
 

  1. Cook the chicken thoroughly without adding salt, onion, garlic, oil, or seasonings.
  2. Allow the chicken to cool slightly, then remove any skin, bones, and excess fat.
  3. Shred or finely chop the chicken into small pieces.
  4. Add the cooked chicken, pumpkin, and rice to a clean mixing bowl.
  5. Add the warm water and gently mix until the ingredients are evenly combined.
  6. Allow the food to cool completely before serving.
Recipe Notes
  1. Keep every ingredient plain and unseasoned. Never add onion, garlic, excessive salt, seasoning blends, or cooked bones.
  2. This recipe is best used as an occasional homemade meal or topper. It should not be considered a complete long term feline diet unless it has been properly formulated to meet your cat's nutritional requirements.
