Recipe Notes
  1. Peanut Butter Safety: Use natural peanut butter that contains no xylitol or other artificial sweeteners. Check the ingredient label carefully before using it.
  2. Pumpkin: Use plain pumpkin puree without added sugar, spices, or pie filling ingredients.
  3. Texture Tip: For softer treats, roll the dough slightly thicker and remove them as soon as they are cooked through. For firmer treats, roll thinner and bake until completely set.
  4. Storage: Store cooled treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. You can freeze them in small portions for longer storage.
  5. Common Mistake to Avoid: Do not use peanut butter containing xylitol, chocolate, added sugar, or other ingredients that are unsafe for dogs.
  6. Serving: Break the treats into appropriately sized pieces and use them as occasional rewards or training treats. Treats should complement, rather than replace, your dog's complete and balanced diet.
