An easy slow cooker dog food recipe made with ground turkey, brown rice, carrots, green beans, and pumpkin. The slow cooking method makes it convenient for preparing a homemade batch with minimal hands on time.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds ground turkey lean and unseasoned
  • 1 cup brown rice uncooked
  • 1 cup carrots chopped
  • 1 cup green beans chopped
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree plain and unsweetened
  • 3 cups water

Method
 

  1. Add the ground turkey to the slow cooker and break it into smaller pieces.
  2. Add the brown rice, carrots, green beans, pumpkin puree, and water.
  3. Stir the ingredients gently until they are evenly distributed.
  4. Cover the slow cooker and cook until the turkey is thoroughly cooked, the rice is tender, and the vegetables are soft.
  5. Stir the mixture thoroughly once cooking is complete.
  6. Allow the food to cool completely before portioning and serving.
Recipe Notes
  1. Use plain, unseasoned ingredients and do not add onion, garlic, excessive salt, seasoning blends, or cooked bones.
  2. Allow the food to cool before storing. Refrigerate portions that will be used soon and freeze additional portions for longer storage.
