Method
 

  1. Add the plain Greek yogurt and pumpkin puree to a small mixing bowl.
  2. Stir until the mixture is completely smooth and evenly combined.
  3. Add the oat flour and mix again. Let the frosting sit for a minute or two so the oat flour can absorb some moisture.
  4. Check the consistency. It should be thick enough to spread over a cooled dog treat without immediately running off.
  5. If you want to pipe the frosting, transfer it to a piping bag and use a small opening for decorating.
  6. Spread or pipe a thin layer of frosting onto completely cooled dog treats.
  7. Immediately add a small amount of dog safe sprinkles while the frosting is still wet.
  8. Let the decorated treats sit in the refrigerator for about 20 to 30 minutes to help the frosting firm up.

  1. Sprinkle Safety: Only use sprinkles made specifically with dog appropriate ingredients. Avoid chocolate, xylitol, excessive sugar, and ingredients such as raisins or macadamia nuts.
  2. Yogurt Tip: Choose plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt without added sweeteners or flavorings.
  3. Consistency: If the frosting is too thin, add a little more oat flour. If it becomes too thick, mix in a small amount of yogurt.
  4. Storage: Because this frosting contains yogurt, keep decorated treats refrigerated in an airtight container and use them within a few days.
  5. Important: This frosting is intended as a small decorative topping rather than a substantial part of your dog's diet. Use a thin layer and keep decorated treats as occasional treats.
