A simple homemade dog food recipe made with cooked chicken, brown rice, carrots, green beans, and pumpkin. It is easy to prepare in a batch and can be served as an occasional homemade meal or topper.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds chicken breast boneless skinless, fully cooked and unseasoned
  • 1 cup brown rice cooked
  • 1 cup carrots cooked and chopped
  • 1 cup green beans cooked and chopped
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree plain and unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup water

Method
 

  1. Cook the chicken thoroughly without adding salt, onion, garlic, oil, or seasonings.
  2. Allow the chicken to cool slightly, then remove any skin, bones, and excess fat.
  3. Shred or finely chop the cooked chicken into small pieces.
  4. Cook the brown rice until tender.
  5. Cook the carrots and green beans until soft.
  6. Add the chicken, rice, carrots, green beans, and pumpkin puree to a large mixing bowl.
  7. Add the water and gently stir until all the ingredients are evenly combined.
  8. Allow the food to cool completely before serving.
Recipe Notes
  1. Use plain, unseasoned ingredients and avoid onion, garlic, excessive salt, seasoning blends, and cooked bones.
